Ideal for birthday parties, celebrations or just because they love chocolate! Suitable for children and teens.
Each workshop lasts approx two hours, they will:
- Work with quality Belgium milk chocolate
- Hear about how the chocolate has been tempered ready for action
- Fill spheres with caramel
- Pipe a chocolate lollipop
- Dip a variety of chocolate fillings into the tank The fillings might include fun mallows and yummy fudge!
- Enjoy a hot chocolate or soft drink & cookie
- Take part in a chocolate tasting – trying some real cocoa products too!
- Decorate their chocolate bags and then package their creations ready to take home.
Note for parents:
The chocolate creations make a lovely party bag in their own right – containing their chocolate lollipop, caramels and hand-made chocolate creations.
The children will have a drink and cookies, but not a full meal during the workshop.
Most people do not bring a birthday cake, however, you are very welcome to bring along a cake if you wish.

The parties are held in the Summerhouse of 16 Hampden Road, Hitchin, Herts, SG4 0LD – so all the mess stays here!
We use quality chocolate and ingredients.
Children’s workshops and parties are ideal for six children. The minimum age for taking part is 10 years old – younger children find it too difficult to follow the health and safety instructions and reach into the chocolate tank, sorry.
The parties last two hours and can be booked Monday – Sunday at a time to suit (diary permitting). Weekend bookings are the most popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
The cost is £225 for a party of up to six participants, additional children cost £30 per person. A deposit of £50 will be requested on confirmation of an event and acts to secure your booking, with the balance becoming due the day before the workshop/party. Deposits are non-refundable unless in the unlikely event that The Melting Pot is unable to deliver your workshop/party.
Once you have confirmed your event, we will forward full joining instructions on how to pay your deposit, directions and other relevant information.
If you would like pre-printed invitations to send to your guests, please include your address when submitting your deposit, and we would be happy to send these to you.
The parties may not suitable for children suffering from a nut or dairy allergy, please check before booking.
